Hello, I'd like some advice from you guys on a situation I'm in....I'm gonna start off by saying that I can like just about any genre (except modern rap-screamo crap ie brokencyde) so that doesn't bother me. While I normally play stuff from August Burns Red to Avenged Sevenfold to Parkway Drive, I know the notes of the bass/reading sheet music also. However, my friend asked if I wanted to play with her on open mike night. The songs she wanted to do are: Ever Ever After, Last Name, and Temporary Home by Carrie Underwood.....I don't really have anything against this type of music (i just prefer what i listen to) so there's no beef there, however I usually use Guitar Pro to learn stuff though I can use tabs however there are no (reliable) tabs I could find for any of them. Any help?

Sorry for the shpeel....basically I need some help learning Ever Ever After, Last Name, and Temporary Home by Carrie Underwood but there aren't any tabs/guitar pro and I'm not good enough to play by ear.

Man Find out what key they are in and most songs use a lot of the same basic Chord Progressions and Embellish them.

Selection of tabs/chord charts here:

Carrie Underwood Tabs: 631 Tabs Total @ 911Tabs - Tabs Search Engine

Ignore the two bass tabs for 'Last Name' unless you play in drop D. Should be in Eb standard.

One thing to check.

Does your friend sing those songs in the same key as Carrie Underwood? She may want something other than what is published. If so like was mentioned find out the key she wants. See if you can find some fake chord on those songs - not tab - and then play Root - 5 to the chord changes - and stay out of her way. Less is more.

Here is an example of staying out of the way - augmenting, but, not competing.
Norah Jones - Cold Cold Heart - YouTube

Good luck.
