Hi all,so I've been playing for a little over a year and I feel I'm progressing fairly well.I have a real good teacher and with his lessons I now know my way around the fretboard, scales, chords, blues stuff and some slapping.

Now what I would like are some reccomendations on where to go next. What are some techniques,exercises,styles,etc.. that you think might make me a better bass player?

Any tips are welcome,thanks.

Are you playing live / jamming yet? If not, IMHO that's a crucial next step...

Yes it's time to start playing your bass with other musicians. If you can not find a band, Clapton will invite you to join in at this spot. http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...ideoid=1859591
I hear the key of E major jamm along. This may come in handy:

Great thing about jamming it will tell you what you do not know and what you need to study next.

Have fun.

Start recording what you hear in your head and make other people play to it.
