Could someone just give me a quick tab of a major pentatonic and a minor pentatonic. Starting on the E string all the way through the G string. Thank you much for whoever does this.

(i had just realized after 4 years of playing i dont know the most commonly used scale!)

Allow me to confuse you a tad.

First off, there are 5 forms (modes) of the major pentatonic scale as well as 5 forms of the minor pent. By form, I simply mean a fingering pattern.

Now, do some research and look up the 5 forms of the minor pentatonic scale on the bass. Learn those by heart.

Once you've got that done, look up the 5 forms of the major pentatonic scale. WOAH! You don't even need to learn anything! It's the same exact patterns shifted up / down the fretboard.

Basically what I'm saying is minor / major are relative and the same forms apply to either one. The important thing to remember is where the ROOT note lies in each pattern.
