Love pentatonics - three chord tones and two safe passing notes. All I need without the bulk of a full 7 note scale or mode. Worth $20 to see how Ed handles pentatonic patterns. |

Ed wrote at least one article in Bass Player mag (several years ago) that showed what penatonic scales are and how to use them over rock changes.

Then we look at Pentatonic modes and how to apply them to chord progressions - mostly rock and pop oriented. Then there is a big section on how to apply Pent scales to soloing, and not your typical approach. I show you several different scales to use over any Maj7, min, Dom7 chord - it's a bit more jazz oriented, and more advanced than the first half of the book. Hope you check it out. |

/rant | Bummer, I like Ed's style of writing, sorry you can not get them. However, pentatonic are everywhere on the Internet. I bet Google can find you something. Worth a try. http://www.ibreathemusic.com/browse/index.php?ltr=A
The index is on A. This site has some great theory articles. Check out Eric Vandenberg he has some articles on scales and pentatonics. http://www.ibreathemusic.com/article/178
Chris Juergensen also has some pentatonic articles you may like. http://www.ibreathemusic.com/article/175
Yep it's 6 string -- ignore the top two strings.
Good luck.

Good luck. | i know the pentatonic scales, its just that Ed's books always have something more to offer and you learn to use what you already know in a much better way!

Sorry. | its a real pain, thats why i wish all books had pdf ebook formats too. but then that would cause peer sharing like with all the mp3s then probably they will stop writing these great books like they dont write the great music anymore!
