Piano Sheet Music?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've searched back for a complete year and don't find a similar thread.

A "noob" question here: When I've exhausted every method that I know to find bass music (web, sheet music sites, amazon) and I'm not astute enough to figure it out by ear (and I want to be sure that I'm playing it "right"), is it possible to determine the bass part from reading the bass clef of piano music?

Well, often the piano player plays a different left hand part than the bassist (well I should hope he does) so it probably won't be the bass part you're looking for, but it'll be good reading practice! There might be certain chords a pianist uses that you might not be able to replicate exactly, but that's good ear practice too!

if it's a solo piece for piano, it's likely that you can derive a bassline from it. It probably won't work if you play it exactly as written, but if you use the lowest notes in the staff and adopt a rhythm fitting the song you might ge something useable.

Good reading practice, probably.
