Hello. I was watching Jaco Pastorius - Modern Bass dvd for like the 7:th time and i just realised that i dont understand a word.
So..
Lets take the question:
He says "Good exercies are 6:es, most people don't practice 6:es". What?

maybe instead of going to the fifth of the root, go to the sixth when playing runs, fills, appregios(sp?).

definately sounds cool in the right context

I think he means doing scales in intervals of sixths, e.g. the c major scale in major and minor sixth intervals (8 or 9 half-steps, whichever lands on a scale note): C, A, back down to D, B, E, C, F, D, etc.
