Hi,

Sorry to butt in...I took a few private lessons with Jeff in Los Angeles when he was based in So. California a few years ago. He is a fantastic teacher and a great guy. You could probably go ahead and email Jeff himself at the Players`School for any specific information that you need.

Good luck!

I went there for a month in July of '04. My experience was very positive. One of the things Mr. Berlin told me that stuck was (and I paraphrase): "Don't go to music school to become a rock musician, go to music school to become a professional musician. To be a rock musician, go home and play along with rock cds and join a rock band, no schooling is needed for that."

What is stressed there is notation reading, being able to play (and solo) in an ensemble, music theory, and other general important music concepts. If you have holes in your playing, they will be addressed, although in a completely friendly manner. Everyone is really nice there and very knowledgeable. My twice-weekly lessons with JB were very informative and enjoyable.

Basically, if you go there and pay attention, your bass playing will improve.
