question about an Instructional Book

Sign in to disble this ad
I have this post over in the technique threads, but I was thinking it deals with instruction as well...

Hey friends,
an excellent guitarist came over and played today.....he had amazing technique and an incredible vocabulary in Jazz improvisation...he showed me this book that he said helped him a lot...here it is:

http://www.adamrafferty.com/books_dvd/virt_book.php

It is for guitar, my question is should I transpose it for bass, or does anyone know of a similar book for bass?
he also recommended that I use guiding tones(3rds and 7ths) to connect my melodic lines in my solos, which was very good advice....Thanks
