| | | | R&B/Funky Blues Songs You Recommend? Hi there
Wondering what R&B or Funky Blues songs you recommend?
Right now I would prefer songs with bit of groove because I'm trying to develop rythmic vocabulary.
Thank you! |

*Any James Brown, JB's, Maceo Parker
*Can't go wrong with Motown and Stax (Greatest hits would do the trick here, and while you're at it check out some Booker T & the MG's).
That should get you started. You can always Google "must have" or "top r&b and funk albums/songs" for a nice variety, and see what you dig.
Enjoy them grooves!

I recommend listening to most of Dyke and the Blazers. For more modern cutting of notes. Tom Browne--Let's Dance. Disco Hamilton Bohannon Let the Dance Begin. The song Can I Change my mind. The song Mr. Big Stuff. Cheryl Lynne the song called tonight. Teena Marie I need your Lovin. Joe Quarterman, I got so much trouble in my mind. Get wit these and you'll be the funkiest guy in your negihborhood. . James Brown--Sou Power. I got a million of them. The song it's a shame the way you mess around with your men. Ain't no stoppin us now.

Just try to internalize the syncopated funky feel the bass man is laying down bettwen his left anf right hands. These songs are for development and pleasure. The others you''re getting paid to learn and know :-)
