yeah, I've recently started studying classical harmony (by recent I mean for about a month or so).

I've basically been absorbing sporadic tidbits of information from here and other internet sources.

I'd like a more consistent resource, so I was wondering if anybody knew of any books I could get on the subject.

thanks,
-your friendly neighborhood IconBasser

Hal Leonard has a really good music theory book. Hal Leonard Guitar Method: Music Theory. It is aimed at guitar players, but it explains it all in a straight forward manner. Comes with a CD as well.

Piston/DeVoto's Harmony is the standard text at a most universities and conservatories.

Makes no concessions to the dilettante, but if you want a thorough and consistent grounding in tonal harmony this is it.

"Counterpoint" but Kent Kennan. It's expensive and small, but it's easily to follow.
I'd try and find it used or at a library.

Best book I've read on Theory ever - is :

The Jazz Theory Book by Mark Levine

99% of it applies to any genre - but the Jazz examples are very useful for "getting" what it really means !
