Recommend mp3/mixer trainer?

I was thinking about getting something like the Tascam MPG-T1 for practicing and learning new songs. I find that the less crap I have to turn on, plug in, setup... the more I feel like practicing. So I thought I might like something simple like that. Just wondering if anybody has any others they'd recommend. That Boss eBand looks good, but kind of expensive, and too big. I don't think I need speakers.

I have the MP-BT1 Tascam Bass Trainer and love it. The slow down feature is great for transcribing. I recommend it.

All the best,
Tim

I have the cd version(tascam) and love it. I'd say go for it. Worth the investment IMO

Tascam.

Another + 1 on the Tascam BT-1. They are definitely worth the investment. The Korg Pandora's are good too but you can only record from an external device and slow down in small segments. With the Tascam you can load and slow down full MP3's.

i have the pandora and i like it. i use a specific external mp3 where i have every mp3's i want to play. the slowdown function works well down to 80%, below that is way too floppy. you cannot speed up more than the original mp3.

you can change the pitch of the songs on the fly and it works very nice. if a song is in Eb you can change it to E for example. bigger steps are also possible and it always works nice.

another cool feature of the korg pandora is that you can record with ASIO software like cubase. it also has built in patterns so you can play along with.

i use it mainly to get basslines from musics. i think the slow down function could be better (meaning it should slow down more than 80% of the original speed without getting floppy)..

can anyone confirm the tascam slowdown feature is better thanthe one in the pandora?

Thanks guys... I'm also looking at the TASCAM GT-R1, which seems pretty cool too.
