Returning from a Bass Hiatus

I sort of got away from my bass obsession because it was taking way too much time. Now I miss it. Badly .
It got to a point about a year ago where the only playing I did was in bands: practicing and shows, but not practicing on my own. Now that I'm in college, I haven't touched my bass in 2 months.

I'm sure that I need to pace myself back into playing so as to not mess my hands up. I know I just need to start practicing my stuff, but are there any specific exercises that I should do to build strength up again?

Do what you normally do with bass... but quit as soon as you feel tired, don't push yourself to pain.

On a related note. This would be an excellent time to work out any technical problems you felt you had when you were playing before. Maybe there aren't any, and that's good.. but you might consider this angle and maybe see a teacher and get some insights to good technique as you rebuild your playing chops. Since you are in college there is probably someone at the music department that could be a help.

Just a thought. And.... welcome back!
