Does anyone know of any rockabilly instruction books? If so, what are they? And where can I get them? Thanks.

If this is posted in the wrong place, please move to the appropriate forum.

one guy that I think of as rock a billy and also blurs the lines between country, rock a abilly and just good old rock n roll is Chris Issac.

.
I'm using Country Bass Method - beginner to intermediate by Progressive. $20 US. When does Rockabilly stop being Country and move into Rock - good question. Both are major I IV V dirt simple progressions. This book has a CD and lists 60 +/- riffs that can be used. Not much on how to play a song, i.e. what to do with those riffs, just a bunch of riffs. I find that a fault in most how to books they give you stuff but don't get around to talking about how and when to use the stuff. I guess that's what the live instructor is for.

Good luck.

Are you looking for rockabilly for upright? I've heard good stuff about Lee Rocker's DVD, but I haven't bought it yet.

Lee Rocker's DVD is OK but it's very basic. Try The Ungentle Art Of Slap Bass by Mark Rubin.

Slowly but surely it's making since.

Thanks,

Jimmy, thank you for the link. It's a whole new world of Rock-a-billy that's now open to me. Never realized it existed. Thanks again.
