Scale score sheet generator?

Sign in to disble this ad
I am looking for an application (either online or for Mac OSX), where you can enter things like:

--

Select root note: A B C D E F G (and # and b notes)
Select scale: Major / Minor / lots of others..

--

Rhythm signatures to include:

whole
half
quarter
eight
sixteenth
thirtytwo

dotted
pauses

combine the above selected at x bars each
mix the above all over the sheet

--

Number of bars to generate

--

... and then print out sheets based on that data ie. a program to generate sightreading material in different keys/rhythms.

This would give VERY efficient reading exercises....

Anyone?

Cheers!
D.Don

will do that. As for the other there are many publishing tools out there some easy some hard. Some free some expensive.

http://lilypond.org/ makes a good looking sheet of music. Need a masters in computer science to use it.

http://www.guitar-pro.com/en/index.php is reasonable and easy to use.

Others will add more.

Good luck

Hmm, I didnt make sense of any of those you recommended.

looknohands, seems to be a fretboard chart maker, lilypond seems to be something for someone who is not involved in anything that has to do with music, and guitar pro doesnt seem to have what I search for (at least it's not mentioned in the manual)...

If I am wrong here, please correct me and point me in the right direction, again, I want to be able to generate score sheets, for reading practice, where I just can enter the key and scale information and what different rhythm entities to be included in the sheet, as playing scales up and down in eights is not that very useful...

Cheers,
D.Don

Define score sheets. Score sheets to me is blank bass clef or treble clef printed on paper and you then write music notation in pencil. That is free all over the Internet, Google and help yourself. I guess we really do not understand what you want. Can you point us to the finished product. If we can see what you are wanting perhaps we can help. Everything we have pointed you to so far will give you blank score sheets plus fill in the music notations for you if you like.

OP is looking for a program to generate sightreading material in different keys/rhythms.

Sightreader master will do what you want but it's for Windows only:

IF I'm understanding correctly you want a "randomization" program.. put in a few preferences then have it reply with a random reply of your criteria?

This almost sounds like a text book from theory school (more than software)

If you're ready to buy --- I have some Berklee folks who will get you an answer.. it's normally not cheap when they speak.

This may not be exactly what you mentioned, but if it's just for reading practice try http://www.bopland.org

Sorry if I confuse you, English is not my first language!

"a program to generate sightreading material in different keys/rhythms" was a very good definition of what I am looking for!

Cheers!

It is a very good program as part of a study plan for learning to sightread well.

I don't know of anything similar to the mac. This is the only program of its kind that I was able to locate.
