School me on some Tic Tac Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
As the title says... what's going on with this!?!

I've recently delved into dinking around on the B-b Baritone tuning and I keep hearing about Tac Tac playing. Is it exclusive to Bass VI 30" scale E-e style guitars or can it be transposed to a smaller 27-28" scale B-b bad boys?

Any good video examples, key players and tabs I should take a look into? Just expanding my "tonal" palette.

Much thanks in advance!

You can do it with either or, though it's traditionally done on the E-e bass tuning. I am having a hard time thinking of examples, though.

This has marvelous tic-tac playing throughout typical of the era. Nice solo starts around :50.

Elvis' "Little Sister" is a great example of E-e tuning on the tic tac. Take a listen to that.

Also, Patsy Cline's "Walkin' After Midnight" is a great tic tac song. That's in C, though, I believe, so I'm not sure how the tic tac is tuned.
