Scrubby Equalizer Q

Sign in to disble this ad
I feel super scrubby asking this, but what does each knob/switch on the equalization of my peavy tko amp do? Ill mess around with them, but i dont know exactly what im doing. I rather feel stupid and embarassed than not knowing at all. My amp has 7 sliders and two knobs (High/low.)
Thanks alot, i know it varies among amps, just want a general idea. thanks

take a picture, it'll help us figure it out.

but if your EQ is what I'm thinking of, then the sliders respond to specific frequencies. Try playing with each of them, one at a time, to hear the difference it makes in your sound.

It says so, in the manual: Low knob controls low frequency, and high knob controls high frequency.

the sliders, as you can see in the diagram, correspond to certain frequencies.

That is a Graphic EQ, so instead of having just treble and bass knobs the graphic EQ splits tone controls into 7 pieces so you can do fine tuning of your sound. If you play around with those sliders you will should start hearing what frequencies each slider controls.

If you just getting started don't worry about it too much put them at the zero setting and focus on playing bass. Later on spend time learning about graphic EQ's.
