The story goes that this entire tune was polished and recorded in a hurry at the last minute to add one more tune to Revolver. For some reason, Paul left the session in a huff and George took over the bass duties.
Personally, if I never heard the story, I'd never think that no one other than Paul played it. Plus, George would have had to play Paul's instrument strung lefthanded... unless he borrowed a bass from a band in another studio.
