Singing Harmony; getting started

Please to excuse me if this has been covered already elsewhere.

My bass chops are finally getting lined up (except in jazz walking, where I'm still waiting for that "breakthrough") so I'm ready to move along. Harmony vocals is next. As always, there's a lot of junk out there on the internet. Can anyone suggest some shortcuts to vocal wonderfulness?

If you already have vocal wonderfulness all you have to do is get to where you can play bass and sing at the same time. Not an easy job. It's like chewing gum and walking - I bet you can do that - so I bet you will be able to play and sing at the same time - just takes practice.

How - start singing under your breath, see if you can keep up. Probably won't be able right at first, but keep trying, it'll come.

O'h, back to that wonderfulness thing. If you sing like me wonderfulness will never happen, but, you will be able to sing backup on the chorus.

Here are some ear training links that may help you out:
~Ear training
Goodear.com
Test your ear
Free downloadable ear trainer (basic/advanced) Solfege. Xlnt program
Trainers/tutorials. Music theory, ear training, read music, chords, intervals, etc.
Online Visual Beginning Theory, ear trainer

I suggest learning the melodies first if you haven't worked on that already. Possibly a vocal coach will cut down your learning curve.
