This. But one thing to keep in mind, ska bassists, like their reggae counterparts, LOVE arpeggios. Mostly root-3rd-5th-3rd or root-3rd-5th-octave over the chord progression
And if by ska you mean ska-punk, you'll probably play play roots on the "punkier" parts.
A few of them, like Matt Wong, throw in pops occasionally, but they rarely slap, unless you consider 311 to be ska (and I don't, P-Nut even less so)
Thats not really a important part of ska bass actually. Its kind of like upright jazz bassist using a bow. Still, I feel its worth mentioning though
