Ska bass help

i want to learn how to play ska bass, ive havent been able to find anything that can help. Can anybody give me some tips? thank you

listen to stuff you like, sing the bass parts to yourself, then find the notes on your bass. if you can sing it, you can play it.

This. But one thing to keep in mind, ska bassists, like their reggae counterparts, LOVE arpeggios. Mostly root-3rd-5th-3rd or root-3rd-5th-octave over the chord progression

And if by ska you mean ska-punk, you'll probably play play roots on the "punkier" parts.

A few of them, like Matt Wong, throw in pops occasionally, but they rarely slap, unless you consider 311 to be ska (and I don't, P-Nut even less so)

Thats not really a important part of ska bass actually. Its kind of like upright jazz bassist using a bow. Still, I feel its worth mentioning though
