"Snake" blues bass line?

Sign in to disble this ad
Has anyone heard of a blues bass line referred to as "snake" or "the snake". I recently started playing with a guy whose been playing blues a lot longer than I have. He's showed me this line a couple times and says it's a snake line. It's a minor blues and more or less keeps descending from the fourth of the chord.

Does it walk up and down the scale/chord tones? Then it would look like a snake in standard notation.

I think that's right about the reference to the pattern being shaped like a snake. It's just that I'd never heard that tern used for a bass line before. I can't find it associated with Luther Allison anywhere either.
