is snare drum a little behind the beat in this example?

Hello,

Is snare drum just a little behind the beat in this example? Or is it perfectly in sync with the "metronome pulse", but this shuffle rhythm on cymbals is misleading me?

Here is the MP3:

Cheers,

The hits are pretty much dead on the beat - I think you're probably right in thinking the shuffed eighth notes just before the beat are confusing you a little.

OK, thanks for your reply!

I realize I need to work hard on my "internal clock" and feeling of the pulse. Now I have problems with telling whether someone plays in front of or after the beat... no to mention even trying to play that way

Maybe when finally my timekeeping is perfect I will have no problems with this! Now, back to practice!
