Hi

I've been searching the forum, but couldn't find what I was looking for: the name of some of the software that can slow down a song without changing its pitch

Thx

I am using Amazing Slow Downer for Mac and it's incredible.
Not sure what the latest, greatest offering is on Windows though.
Have you checked out versiontracker.com?

Not surprisingly I suppose, Roni Music makes Amazing Slow Downer for Windows too!
It's shareware so after a short trial period they ask you to register.
The price isn't too bad considering the quality of the software and the feature set.
I think it's worth it.

I have tried both Amazing Slow Downer and Transcribe! (the exclamation mark is part of the name) and recommend Transcribe! The user interface is simple and straightforward and I like how easy it is to loop over a certain section of the song. There is a free 30-day fully working trial available at www.seventhstring.com.

You could also "change tempo" it in Audacity.

Try this program, I'm currently using it at the moment to learn the Ytse Jam by Dream Theater, it's brilliant! You can slow down to 20% I believe, change the pitch and loop parts of a song that you want to practice. The best part of all though is the fact that it is free. Enjoy

Yes the mix is crap (my bass is way too loud), but it was our first session so take pity ;)

The most recent version of Windows Media Player will slow down audio to about 50% speed. Works just fine for me.

I use Audacity. It's freeware. Not only can you slow a tune down, but you can slice out parts of a tune that you want to focus on.
