do you guys have any pointers or advice on solo-ing in jazz? I have a solo on one of the songs we're playin in jazz band..and i would like some advice on how to play it my best!

I'm presuming they gave you the charts, so if you know your theory, you can just solo over the chords using chord tones and use chromatics.


Or you can just use your ear

Or you could do what I saw some local bassist doing- turn your amp almost all the way down so no one can hear you. Just make it look impressive, like your trying to be a guitarist and shred all over the place.
