Hi thought i would just share. Some of you will know. I have just ordered my first bass(Epiphone Les Paul special, pitch black). I also got some learning material to go with it. Which comes with two DVDs included.

But tonight i though what the heck i'll have a look on google.

I found Study Bass. I have to say what a great website . I have already learnt the 12 notes. The natural 7 notes and the 5 flat or sharp notes. Got my head around the frets, how the notes work with the frets and how they correspond with a scale and how a scale equals an octave.

I'm proud of myself and already enjoying learning the theory.

Heres the web address http://www.studybass.com/

I wasn't expecting to be too impressed, but at first glance the guy looks to know what he's talking about...

He starts off with the thing that I always bang on about as a first principle:

Quote:
Bass provides the rhythmic foundation.
Bass provides the harmonic foundation.
good luck Triumph-Rock!

Been there, it's a pretty helpful site. I used it a lot when I first started and wished I was playing instead of sitting at work. I wold fill my days with theory.

I actually emailed the site creator and thanked/commended him for putting up and maintaining such a good resource. He emailed me back within 24 hours thanking me for my email, chatted about the site ad answered a couple questions I asked. Real nice guy.
