Surf music?

Anyone have a clue what kind of theory goes into writing instrumental "surfer" music?

I'm talking things like The Ventures or Shadowy Men On A Shadowy Planet.

couldn't tell you who any of those bands are. all i can say is that Jack Johnson freakin rocks.

With the Ventures you just wait till some other band has a hit then record it as an instrumental. They did do origionals but their remakes kept the busy for a few decades.
