I am looking to begin taking electric bass lessons after a few years off, and I was wondering if anyone could point me toward a good teacher in the Washington DC area. Looking to generally improve my playing, especially improvising. Thanks for helping a fellow bassist!

Couple of ideas for you:

There's a bass shop in Alexandria called Jive Sound that has a couple of guys teaching there; I haven't met them but their bios look good. linky:

Also, in McLean VA there's a lesson studio called All things Rock, and a very good bass player named John McCain (no kidding) teaches there. linkerino:
