| | | | Theory Trivia: What's it called when a minor song ends on a major chord?

It's pretty common in hymnal music and a couple traditional Christmas tunes.
I keep thinking it's something like Piccadilly Third or something, but that's not right...
Anyone? It's driving me nuts. My googling skills have proven weak.

The major third was far more harmonious and final-sounding than the minor third, so it only made sense that the end of the piece should end on a tonic major triad. A lot of composers found it painfully cliché, however, and went to great lengths to avoid it. Mozart ended his Requiem with an open fifth (power chord!) just to avoid it, for example. He couldn't have ended it with a minor triad because it didn't sound as final, and he thought the picardy third would sound trite, so he just powerchorded it. Quite metal.

(it sounds trite, they should've ended it with a pete-townshend style root/fifth power chord LOL)

Excuse my ignorance here, but I know absolutely nothing about Theory (however, that doesn't mean that I didn't find this to be an interesting topic).
The example of a Picardy Third at the end of Roundabout - are you referring to the very last chord of the song?
