Is there anywhere...

Is there anywhere, preferrably online, that has bass clef notations or tabs of jazz MELODIES? I have all the real books and everything but it just takes a while longer to transpose the treble clef stuff, and it would be easier to read in bass clef on the fly. Anyone?

Thanks a ton!

Do a search on ebay for fakebooks. There are people selling CD's with all (and I mean all) the Real Books. You'll get Bb, Eb and bass clef versions of everything.

There may be some folks giving them away for free. You might check that out... but really for about $20 you can get them and pretty fast too.

Do yourself a favor and read the treble clef and don't even think of using the word Tab and Jazz in same sentence.

As a bass play you will have to read treble clef all the time, lead sheets, theory and other materials. Also on gigs having/reading treble clef Real Book's makes it easy to share on gigs with the keyboard and others. Something that does happen more than you think. At first it is a little confusing like when first coming from a 4-string to a 5-string, but the same a few days and easy to be back and forth.

^I agree - learning to read the melodies in treble clef will help you a lot. Your band leader / musical director will love you for it.

Treble clef is what you see on chord charts when you're working. Might as well learn it and be done with it.

BTW, when the word gets around that you can do it you'll get more work.
