Is there a free speed trainer program out there?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been trying to find a speed trainer I can use to practice tunes and slow them down etc without losing the pitch and all that. I tried the Ampeg SVX but when I click on another window with some tab or sheet music in it the SVX window goes silent. Anyone got any ideas?

Not a metronome but a program that'll play mp3 or other audio files and allow you to slow them down without changing the pitch of the song. Maybe even allow you to loop a certain section so you can concentrate on just that portion without constantly rewinding it.

DUh, i'm a moran apparently. I thought you were asking me if I needed a metronome. Maybe all thos bong hits are finally catching up to me. Thanks a ton for the help guys.

This is what I use.

The Amazingt Slowdowner

http://www.ronimusic.com/

It's not free but it's the best 50.00 I ever spent. You can transpoe or loop or change tempo. Also, you can save the changes. So you can have a copy of the song tuned down or slowed down.

I understand there is some free stuff but this works well.

They have a demo version you can try.

Try audacity...its free and does what you are looking for. Quicktime and Windows Media Player will also do the same thing but not as good.

I also use Audacity. I'm sure there might be other programs out there that does the job more easily, but Audacity is a good program to have anyway. If you filter/EQ it just right, you can get it to where the bass is more dominant in the mix, and thus easier to figure out exactly whats being played.

Excuse the typo. It was late. But yes, I would suggest to use Audacity if you can't find anything else
