Question Is there slapping in The Hollies "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress"?

As part of my ear training, I've been listening to recordings from the 50's and 60's. Even though it was a bit out of the range, I listened to "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress," simply because I like it.

Tonight I went out to YouTube and found the video for it. The first thing I noticed was that about the only times they showed the Bernie Calvert was in the background. I did pick up a spot where it looked like Bernie was slapping the bass. I couldn't hear a difference in his sound, though, so I'm wondering if I'm just imaging things.

The video is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lP94PlEtsEQ - it's about 2:40 into the song.

No he's not slapping, just exaggerated hand motion. He does it at the beginning too. And they're miming to the studio track as well.
