Ties

TO my understanding of musical theory, if you come across an accidental, that note remains an accidental for the rest of the measure, which in the next measure, there is sometimes a courtesy natural.

What happens when there is a tie? Does the note remain accidental for the 2nd measure or does it return to natural after the tie is done?

I believe that it returns to natural after the tie.
