Tips on audition (backingtracks?)..

Hello everyone!

In about a month I am going to do an audition to gain entry to a Bachelor called Musical Science. It's a study that has an emphasis on both theory and practical ability, but mostly it's theoretical.

Anyways, what I was wondering was, does anyone know where to get backing tracks of the Weather Report song "Cannon Ball"? Even a midi file would be great. I've searched for ages on various midi searching sources, but nothing seems to find it. Can anyone help me out here?

Also, I was wondering if anyone might know how to rip an MP3 off a CD, EQ it, and cut away parts of it?

I might also be posting this in the wrong forum, but I just got up, so I apologize if none of this makes any sense.

Just an Idea if you have guitar pro you can cut out the tracks you want and makeit a midi.

Yeah, that is a good idea, but I haven't been able to find any .GP file of the track, either I'm afraid .. :/

you do not want to play with a backing track...

you want to show you can hold a groove / time with nothing else playing behind you...

unless you really want to use the backing track to cover something up...
