Tips on writing a bass riff?

I'm sick of using a lot of Jason's and Cliff's material for soloing, anyone got any ideas on writing a heavy bass solo riff?

lol, since I have my bass in my hands for at least an hour every day (band class), I almost always come up with something decent sounding and ticking off my teacher while I am at it.

Just mess around, everytime I try and force something, nothing comes, just play around all over the fret board and dong stay on any one string for too long (unless you get something really good going).

Hope this helps!

try using some scale sequences to get some interesting runs and get new ideas.

Start with seconds and thirds, and maybe some 4 note groups.
