Tizol and Ellington - Caravan

Hello TB once again.

At my jazz combo in music school I've been asked to play Caravan, the jazz standard composed by Juan Tizol and arranged be Duke Ellington.
I'm having some troubles in getting the latin rhythm in the first part of the tune and about note choice regarding the walking bass in the swing part. I have some notions of walking bass, what I'm looking for is examples of notes that can be played from some chords to another, like examples of chromatic runs, and help in analazing the song harmonically.

If anyone who is familiar with this tune could help with some tips would be very good. And sorry for the terrible way I express my musical doubts in english, it tends to be more difficult than I expected.

So no one here has played this tune and got some advice? Alteast some help in harmonic analysis...

Perhaps you should wait more that 14 hours before deciding no one has anything to say.

If you have a recording of the song, why not just transcribe the bass part? It would be the most effective way of learning what you can or cannot do in the song.
