Yes! All the SRV songs Ive ever learned are down a 1/2 step

The key is in E with the adjusted tuning.

Yep, you'll find that SRV played with thick strings (he actually played a mixed set) and like most blues players, he tuned down a 1/2 step, so in standard, play it in Eb, or tune down and play the open E string (now tuned to Eb). I usually just play it in E. There's an excellent book called The Bass Tab White Pages that you might want to check out from Hal Leonard publishing. It is in there.

edited to add... I mentioned this book, because there are a few SRV, Beatles, Queen, and other good songs in there, including "Pride and Joy".
