hi everyone i have played bass for almost a year and a half, having self taught and having a year old bass i'm now seeking for new basses that i would like.

But i have a question, it's that when i'm out looking at basses and trying them out, what do i look out for when i'm trying them? I'm still a little bit confused so can anyone help me?

Comfort, "Good" Sound (Subjective), Playability, Within Budget,

Comfort, make sure it does not dive on you too much in both the seated and standing positions (Take a strap)

"Good" Sound, listen to the sound of the instrument on different amps, or better yet take yours. Is this the sound you want for the style of music you play?

Playability, is the string spacing enough for the style that you play (Finger, Pick, Slap, or Combination). Check the neck for dead spots. Is the neck to wide or narrow for your hand? Are the frets the right size or crudley fashioned (It Costs $60 here for fret dressing)?

Budget, self explanitory.
