Sign in to disble this ad
i find this very exciting.Have a warwick 4 string rockbass left-handed
so decided to tune it BEAD .My fellow musicians was very impress with the low B.Fingering was a bit different. Please share your experience guys!
Is the any other adjustments i have to make?Using a 40watt practice amp for the moment.Should i acquire a 60-100watt amp and how will it sound? let me know...should i use the thicker strings for my 4 string bass, the thick string (5 string bassist use).Should i invest in a 5or6 string left-handed bass?

I would say yes, if you can go for a 5 string bass. If not you will be better off with B to D strings from a 5 string set but you will probably need to carefully ease the nut with a needle file to accommodate the thicker strings.

Talking of amps, if you have a 40W then I'd not be looking at anything as low as a 60W as the difference, depending on the make and model, may not be noticeable.

It depends on what you're going to be doing with it. Sort that out and come back and ask for a recommendation

I have one of my Fender Jaguars strung BEAD with the low 4 of a 5-string set of Slinkys. You can actually just use the string to widen the nut groove ever-so-slightly by pulling it back and forth through the nut (if it's plastic...but do it CAREFULLY).
