Tuning to C Standard

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok guys, the farthest I have gone from standard tuning is Drop D, but the band members suggested tuning us all to C standard. I think this is a good tuning, as it keeps all the roots, octaves, etc. in line, therefore it is easy to learn. However, would it be suggested I get my nut filed for larger gauge strings, or any other adjustments be made? I don't want to sound muddy/sloppy is basically the issue I am having.
My axe is set as such:
Ibanez GSR200, string gauge is factory 45-100. Strung with Dean Markley Blue Steels.
