Play them from root to root to root. There's a myriad of ways to physically do this, depending on the scale, your starting position, etc. So the way to do it is to really LEARN the fingerboard, and what notes you're playing. That way once you KNOW that the G major scale is G A B C D E F#, you'll abe able to work out fingerings that'lll cover it from the 3rd fret of the 4th string up to the 12 fret of the 1st string (or the 17th fret of the 3rd string...).

I advise that you avoid those charts that show you stock fingerings for every scale there is- that only teaches you physical memory, and to play music you need to know how the notes function together.
