upside-down player seeks xxl strings

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi Folks-
I'm a guitarist with my first bass guitar and I have a big set-up problem. I play upside-down, which means low E is on the bottom: this has been so for 30 years and cannot be changed.

So, the bass I bought is a lefty p-bass copy and even the LONG strings are too short, or at least the E string is too short. Where can I find xxl strings, or four inches longer than a LONG string?

Otherwise, I'll have to play a righty P-bass (awkward) or leave behind my hope for the long fender-style headstock.

Thanks for any thoughts. Keep on thumpin'!

addition

Oh, I neglected to mention that I really want
FLATWOUND strings and the low E needs to be really really really long to reach the end of the headstock.

Check out D'Addario - Jimmy Haslip uses those for his upside-down 6 string:

Alternatively, you might find what you want in a set of strings for double bass...
