Hey guys I've just recorded another tutorial covering a lick I used in the last pentatonic lesson. I actually stole it from Pino Palladino

Here's the new tutorial...

If you didn't see the first tutorial check it out here...

Thanks again for checking my stuff out.

Ezzzzz,

Scott.

Not only are these very helpful, it's very generous of you to offer them up freely for all. Great work! Thanks!

Had to say thank you for this lesson.....

One of the clearest an most consice explanations i've ever seen demonstrated of these pentatonic runs i've always been a fan of.

Bravo!

I just saw that your signature bass is featured in bass player. Congrats to you and Overwater.

The tutorials are always good.

Got me to thinking.

Major pentatonic = 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, and then 8 with a new octave.
Code:
Major Pentatonic Box - One Octave
G|-------|-------|-------|-------| 1st string
D|---6---|-------|-------|---8---|
A|---3---|-------|-------|---5---|
E|-------|---R---|-------|---2---|4th string
Riffs from the Major pentatonic notes:

R-5-6-6-5 then:
R-3-5 or...
3-2-5 or...
3-2-8 or...
2-3-R or... 8 or...

....Start with something new:
3-5-6-6-8...

You turned on the light switch... I'm not all that creative, but, if I will write out some possibilities first and then see which sound the best, good things happen. I am visual, have to see it first. That's why I like all those graphs and patterns.

Thanks.

Hey Malcolm... I'm very visual too... all the sounds, ideas, melodies in my head usually have a shape attached to them in someway. I find it really helps me remember and recall different ideas, sounds, motif's etc.

Ez man,

Scott.
