tony newton is a weirdly intriguing character...in some vids he totally seems like a washed up hack, and in others he seems fairly good.

i mean it's not exactly "legendary" playing, but he knows what he's doing. that one of him with bill dickens is just sad.

This is by far one of the better videos of ever seen come out of "expert" village. (And by "better," I mean "least incompetent.")

If you really want a laugh, check out this compilation of one their upright bass "experts": YouTube - ‪The Best of Ryan Larson - "Expert" Village Bass Genius‬‏

(This compilation was put together by someone on the TB DB side of the various videos this "expert" has put out. It's good stuff.)

Yeah, 'expert' villiage usually sucks in the music tutorial department.

That Ryan Larson video was hillarious, it's good to see some TB'ers have a sense of humour

I guess this is just a good example of how someone can be a decent player in some circumstances but completely unable to teach.

Thanks for posting this. Because of you I was able to thread my way through the internet and figured out this guy was one of my favorite fusion players when I was a kid in the 70's. I had totally forgotten about him.
