Just thought a I'd share something I've been going over to get the strength in my pinky up to scratch. I came from playing guitar and due to the my giant hands, never needed to use my pinky but on a full scale bass it's a little trickier (still fairly easy to be lazy), so to get rid of a bad old habit, I developed this.
VERY simple but I prefer to it the old "1,2,3,4" as if you get a nice rythm, it can sound quite musical.
Repeat this pattern till your left arm (right for you southpaws)
begins to ache.

I was using a pick, but i'm now using this to build speed in my fingerstyle.
