Walking bass lesson - CRASH COURSE!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys I just posted up a new tutorial on how to get 'up and running' with walking bass lines. They can be quite daunting to start with so i've got a few tips on here to help people out without having to get into the theory side too much. This technique works well with certain chord sequences but not so well with others, so i'll cover some other ideas in part 2.

This is part 1 of a 2 part series, part 2 will come next week sometime.

Part 1... Easy Walking Bass Lesson | Scott's Bass Lessons

Also, it's on my brand lessons new site... hope you like it! I know NOTHING about website programming etc so i've had to bust my balls a little to get this together. There's a lot of new content going be added over the next few months so watch this space!

Take it easy,

Scott.

Oh thanks man... especially the comment about the website looking great! I'm a TOTAL technophobe so it took me ages to do it because I built it myself. I did kinda enjoy it in the end though.

Thanks again for checking it out.

Easy,

Scott.

Apologies guys... I promised the second installment of the 'crash course' walking bass tutorial this week... but, i'm going to be in Seville (Spain) all week so i'm going to have to wait till I get back at the weekend until I can get part 2 recorded.

The good news... i'm going to Seville to see a hand specialist that specializes in focal dystonia... so, fingers crossed it might be a positive step forward. Hey, in a few years i might be able to get rid of those gloves lol!!

Until next week take it easy!

Scott.

Great lesson Scott, and so simple as well! Isn't the internet a wonderful thing? I can sit here in Central Massachusetts late on a Sunday night and take a video lesson from a bloke in England! Simply amazing!

BTW I think that glove looks cool on you!

Hope things work out for the better here Scott, though I think I'd miss that glove.

I'm new to bass, and these two lessons are REALLY helpful. If you go for a third installment, might I suggest that it deals with how to execute the little "hiccup" percussive grace notes and the descending sixteenth note embellishments that you throw in that really make the walk more pleasant.
