Question weird sounds

i've been playing for about a year now and yesterday i heard my playing on a recording for the first time, the song was "House of the Rising Sun". But i noticed that more often then not when i would go from note to note the was this click noise maybe even a pop nosine evertime i'd change notes. what am i doing wrong?

Pushing the strings down too hard? Other than putting less pressure on them you might try lowering the strings a bit or try a tidbit of delay in your sound chain. I'm sure other guys will come up with more ideas.

Listening to your own play must be one of the most underestimated learning tools. The last problem I've picked that way (totally unexpectedly!) was that I release the strings too soon, resulting in notes that are a bit too short!

the sound comes right after the note during the transition to the next note, could i be lifting off to slowly?

Could be the harmonic of the released note. Fret & play a single not; sometime during the sustain, release your finger quickly. You should here it "switch" to the open string resonating.
