As no one has jumped on this, here goes.

Playing on the higher frets. The 13th to the 24th is just a repeat of the 1 to 12. If you can play in the 1 to 12 do the math and go on up. 1 + 12 = 13. 5 + 12 = 17. Not trying to yank your chain, but, why do you want to play higher up? If we know why you want that perhaps someone will chime in.

Don't slap so can not help on the rest.

Slap gets really complicated with the more stuff you learn. But, there's no such thing as a beginner or expert (according to victor wooten) so some great songs are Brick House by the commodores. Hair by graham central station. RHCP stuff is all great. What improved slapping the most for me was learning drum paradiddles on bass. This is where i started: Anthony Wellington teaches slap bass and rhythm using the "Modes of Rhythm" - YouTube
Also, MarloweDK on youtube has some great slap lessons. youtube.com/marlowedk
The blisters don't stop until you play for about a year. Try not to pull the string extremely hard and switch between pointer and middle fingers when one or the other starts to hurt. Hope that helped!

You will get blisters for about a year, depending on your practice frequency and intensity.
For more slap, the first things that come to me are:
Take the power back- RATM
Naked in the rain- RHCP
