whats a good site/book

to learn Chords / scales.

i've had a look around http://www.studybass.com/, but i couldnt find a full list of them just odd bits and pieces.

any help would be appriciated

musictheory.net and teoria are great online resources.

As far as books, I highly recommend Music Theory: A Practical Easy to Use Guide for Bassists by Sean Malone. It's a Hal Leonard book. It's loaded with information, and presented in a very thorough, easy to follow manner.

And of course, the best way to learn and really internalize chords as a bassist is to learn to walk. Ed Friedland's Building Walking Basslines is a great place to start.
