Why do I like this so much?

Hello,

I'm newbie to the bass and there's this one pattern that I seem to be really drawn to more than any other. It goes like this in the first position:

Open G, A, Open G, E, Open D, C, Open A, G on the 3rd fret E string.

I just seem to gravitate towards this pattern as parts of it seem to fit so well into so many songs, particularly rock.

Anyone have an idea what it is about this pattern that I'm finding myself so drawn to? Just wondering.

It's a standard riff based on the blues scale in A, the basis for most modern music styles.

You could also call it A minor pentatonic as there is no b5.
