If you actually read the threads it should be obvious. Did you not see the flame wars that erupted in nearly every thread he posted in? (IMO Berlin holds only 50% or less of the blame for that though.) Also he openly disrespected the mods, which is against the rules here.

and Ken SMith is gone too! I was just informed he was banned. does that mean that anyone with a unique personality that doesn't fit the mold is done away with?

I do not know Jeff, but from everything I have read it appears that he does not possess the filtering mechanism that most humans have that keeps every thought from being verbalized. I know some of you appreciate his commentary and I have agreed with him on occasion but Jeff has never met a thought he did not want to share.

maybe this is the wrong thread to have this in, but I saw Jeff's thread in here so I just put it here. There are lot's of pro bassists that are like Jeff, why should they have to hide who or what they are in order to share their knowledge is kind of a question to me as well.

neither I am afraid. but a fan of both! I am a TB newbie, but I hang more on boards like ebassist, HC, or musician central usually.

I didn't know Jeff got banned. All the threads that I read seemed to be going rather well from Jeff's end. That's disappointing to me.

Smith on the other hand...

Ah, that explains it. Those boards allow a lot more incivility, flaming, and trolling than this one does.

When it comes to question of the actions of a moderator, these a "Case closed" and a preferred to be taken to PM. These are rules that are not an exception to anyone here.

HC is a lame board. I have tried a couple times and learned nothing - except how to flame.

I think it also has to do with a grown man acting like a 12 year old boy.

Its a glitch, seemingly from his original account here, when he had his own forum area.

i used to think so but i don't anymore. you do have to tart yourself down for tb, but seeing a handful of kids coming on here and getting verbally brutalized for just not knowing any better made me realize that rules might be a good thing

agreed with HC now. It used to be a great place, but then they switched to 2.0 (total fail) and split the populace there. place is a ghost town now, nothing but trolls etc.

that gets sketchy to me. it makes a person unable to state his case and thus makes it more of a dictatorship then anything don't you think?

You can still state your case, just no need to publicly do it with a thread. This is a privately owned board, besides and is governed a bit differently as a result. Rules are what keep this from becoming HC or dudepit.
