Working Out Bass Line in A Minor (Life During Wartime) - Beginner Help!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey Everyone,

I'm sitting here trying to work out the bass line to Life During Wartime by Talking Heads. It seems what I have been playing is wrong and my band just haven't noticed Basically, the bass follows the main hook/riff on the keyboards and does root notes for the chorus, plus some fills I like to add.

Previously, I was hammering on C to D for the chorus on the second string but it is infact D to E and this sounds right. However, I just can't grasp the riff for the verse and was wondering if anyone can help?

Basically, it's in A Minor and I found a copy on the interwebs which reminded me of that scale on the bass but I can't work out which notes to play. Previously I was playing A -> G -> A -> C -> A but I'm not sure that's right. Any ideas on what I should be doing, since I'm new to all this?!

Thanks
